Photo Agency Sues Perez Hilton
A Los Angeles photo agency is suing Perez Hilton for infringement of copyright, claiming that he used over 50 photographs without the agency’s permission, and without giving any credit or reimbursement to the agency. One of the photos was that showing a pregnant Katie Holmes and Britney Spears out on the town.The copyright infringement lawsuit against Hilton is seeking damages of over $7.5 million. The company, X17 have accused Perez, whose real name is Mario Lavandiera, of using a total of 51 photographs without seeking permission.
The owner of the X17 agency stated: ""We've had trouble with a lot of bloggers. But he's the biggest, and the most arrogant and pigheaded about it, frankly. He is stealing our images and costing us money every day."
In response to the allegations made by the Los Angeles photographs agency with regards to copyright infringement the celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, stated: "I am going to vigorously defend myself. I am willing to step up to the plate and fight for my rights and fight for the rights of all bloggers."
