Lawsuit Filed Against Boeing By Ex-Workers
A large number of ex-employees have filed a lawsuit against aerospace giant, Boeing, with the federal lawsuit being filed against the company and its buyer in Kansas and Oklahoma. The lawsuit claims that the company operated age discrimination, with 75 named plaintiffs seeking damages as part of a class action.There are also other defendants named on the lawsuit. These include Onex Corp., a Canadian company, and Spirit Aerosystems Inc., a subsidiary. Up to 300 additional former workers may be able to join the lawsuit according to legal representatives.
Boeing officials did not make any comments and claimed that no report of the lawsuit had been provided to the company. The lawsuit aims to provide workers with their jobs back, get compensation from the parties responsible, and get punitive damages.
The lawsuit alleges that following the sale, younger employees were hired while older ones were let go. Of those not offered their jobs back, the largest percentage was in the age group of 50 years and above, claims the lawsuit.
