Woman Sues Airlines For Wrongful Death
The JetBlue Airways Corp. is being sued by a woman from Peabody, who is making a claim against the airline for the wrongful death of her husband. She claims that airline officials paid no attention to her husband when he suffered a heart attack on board a flight a couple of years ago and died as a result of the heart attack.A former company president, 53 year-old Robert Fossett Jr. was on board one of the budget airline’s flights to Boston in February 2005. When he started to experience heart problems another passenger realized that there was a problem and quickly alerted staff aboard the aircraft.
According to the man’s 51 year-old widow, Karen Fossett, nothing was done to help him until the plane landed. She said: "After the plane landed, JetBlue's employees or agents determined that Mr. Fossett was unresponsive, but nonetheless fully deplaned the aircraft before providing any assistance, calling for aid or attempting to resuscitate him."
A JetBlue spokesperson stated: "We can't comment on pending litigation matters."
