Michael Jackson Lawsuit Dismissed By Judge
A $10 million lawsuit filed by pop star Michael Jackson has been dismissed by a US judge. The lawsuit was filed against a man from New Jersey who was allegedly in possession of items and memorabilia that Jackson claims were stolen. Court papers indicate that the case was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper because Jackson filed the case two years ago and failed to pursue it.According to reports, the defendant, Henry Vaccaro, was in possession of a warehouse full of Jackson memorabilia, such as costumes, documents, and awards. A lawyer for the defendant had also suggested that the items in the warehouse included skin bleach, sexual videos and other items, and a picture of a seven-year-old boy drawn by the star. However, Jackson’s lawyer stated that the star had never stated that the latter items were anything to do with him.
The defendant stated that he was awarded the items in his possession following a failed business venture that ended up in bankruptcy court. He said that he was awarded the memorabilia after years of legal action and following the sale of the items during bankruptcy proceedings involving the Jacksons.
The items were displayed on a pay-per-view website about the star. Jackson then decided to sue, stating that although Vaccaro had a right to some of his brothers’ items and his parents items, some of the items were his.
