Travel Company To Be Sued By UK Holidaymakers
A family that claims to have been taken on a holiday from hell are taking legal action against the holiday company with which they travelled. The tour operator, a well known UK holiday company, is Thomson, and the family – who were on their first overseas holiday, had travelled from Birmingham in England.Lorraine and Andrew Alexander, along with their five children aged between thirteen and two years, had booked a once in a lifetime vacation to Jamaica. They were to stay at the Starfish Trelawny Beach Hotel. The holiday was booked through Thomson Tour Operators. However, the family claim that from the minute they reached the departure airport in Manchester, England, they started to experience problems.
Upon arrival at Manchester Airport no record of the family’s booking could be found. Although there was adequate room on the flight for the family, they were not provided with any of the extras that they had paid for in advance, even though the tour operator admitted that they were at fault.
Mr. Lawrence goes on to claim that once aboard the flight he was physically and verbally abused by two women that were sitting in front of him. He asked that police be called once the aircraft landed but nothing was done about the incident he claims, other than air stewards coming over to assist him whilst the plane was still in the air.
