Soldier Arrested For Sexual Assault
Rockwall police have revealed that a soldier has been arrested for sexual assault on a minor boy. The 21-year-old soldier has been accused of sexually assaulting a boy just 15 years old, after meeting the boy over the Internet. The arrest took place at the end of December, and the soldier now faces up to 20 years in prison as well as fines of around $10,000.The soldier, Justin Clemente Kaercher, is from Tarrant County, although it was not revealed what his rank within the army was. The boy that he was accused of sexually assaulting is reportedly from the Terrell area. Following the posting of a $100,000 bond, the soldier was recently released.
Officials have confirmed that Kaercher, who is stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia, will also be investigated by military authorities. An attorney for the soldier, however, apparently was unsure as to why the military was involved in the case and investigation.
The arrest was made after the 15-year-old boy told an officer that he and the soldier had been engaged in sex conduct a few months earlier at a Super 8 Motel. After the arrest both Kaercher and the alleged victim were interviewed separately in order to ascertain what happened.
