Legal Action Taken Over Negligence In Treating Children
A firm of laywers in the UK is taking legal action on behalf of over one-hundred parents whose children were allegedly treated negligently by a doctor. It is claimed that the children were negligently treated by Dr. Holton when he was working at the Leicester Royal Infirmary in the UK as a consultant Pediatrician.The doctor worked at the hospital for a decade, and according to reports he mis-diagnosed and mis-treated over six-hundred children during this time. So far, around four-hundred families have come forward with a view to taking legal action for the mis-diagnosis and mis-treatment of their children.
The mis-diagnoses and inapprorpriate treatments related to children that suffered from epilespy, and the doctor was at times prescribing six different medications at the same time for some of the children in his care.
The law firm acting on behalf of many of the families wrote: ‘We have agreed a form of alternative dispute resolution with the solicitors acting for the hospital trust, to ensure that cases are dealt with as quickly as possible. We can claim compensation for the child's pain and suffering caused by the misdiagnosis and for the financial losses caused by the unnecessary treatment.’
