McDonald’s Being Sued Over Gluten In Fries
The world famous fast food giant, McDonalds, is being sued in the United States after it was discovered that it uses gluten in its fries. A lawyer for the person filing the lawsuit against the burger chain stated that McDonalds also failed to provide warnings to indicate that the French fries contained gluten, thus putting those with an allergy to gluten at risk.Debra Moffat is the plaintiff, and she is being represented by Thomas Pakenas, who stated: "McDonald's, through their websites, tell their managers to tell people that there are certain meal items that are gluten free." The lawyer claims this included french fries.
The burger chain is said to have recently admitted on its site that gluten is used in the manufacturing of the fries, and this was done in response to federal regulations. A number of people are said to have suffered some reaction to the gluten.
The plaintiff has not disclosed how much she is asking for from McDonalds, but as a gluten intolerant she has suffered after eating gluten based products that carried no warning.
