Group Founder Sues Creator Of Website
A federal libel lawsuit has been filed against the creator of a website by the founder of a group that aims to defeat incumbent state lawmakers. The lawsuit has been filed against the creator of an opposition, who claimed that the group is simply a money-making scam with the money going directly into the pocket of the founder.The creator of the Uncleansweep.com site claimed that over eighty percent of the money spent by Cleansweep has gone into the pocket of the group’s chairman, Russ Diamond. However, Diamond has retaliated by stating that all expenses listed on the site were ones that had been approved by the board of director’s for the organization.
The website is registered to a staff member of the state House of Representatives, Bob Nye. It is claimed that two others, including a state senator, have also been involved with the site, but no names have been mentioned. However, in newspaper interviews Nye has denied that there is anyone else involved and claims he runs and maintains the site himself and in his own time.
A number of expenses claimed by Diamond were listed on the website, and this included reimbursement for tolls and mileage among other things, all expenses that Diamond claims were approved through the proper channels.
