World Of Warcraft Maker Sued
The maker of the popular online game, World of Warcraft, has been sued by a 24-year-old. Brian Kopp from Bronson states that he was improperly barred from selling copies of his own gaming guide, which was an unofficial one that he had been selling through eBay.The online game, which stormed the world in 2004, has millions of subscribers, and Kopp decided to start selling his own unofficial guide online, providing tips and information on playing the game. He was selling the guides for about $15 each and had sold several hundred since last August.
The makers of the game allegedly started asking eBay to remove the auction items due to copyright infringement and trademark infringement. This usually results in eBay ceasing the auction of an item and possibly suspending the account of the user.
The lawsuit filed by Kopp is seeking financial damages, and also a judgement to state that his book does no infringe any intellectual property rights and is covered by the First Amendment.
