Injury Claim From Prison Inmate
Another inmate has filed a claim for injuries allegedly sustained while in prison. This comes in the light of another investigation of the beating of a prisoner who died from his injuries. The latest claim alleges that a prisoner suffered serious injuries after being strapped to a chair and beaten. Attorneys claim that the prisoner suffered serious kidney problems and nerve damage after the alleged incident at Harrison County Jail.The incident involving Kasey Alves is said to have taken place one month prior to another incident involving Jessie Lee Williams, Jr. whose injuries proved fatal and whose death was ruled a homicide. A lawsuit has filed a wrongful death lawsuit alleging that prison officials were told that one particular jailer was going to end up causing someone’s death.
Alves was arrested on misdemeanor charges, and witnesses have described what happened to him, with descriptions that match what the attorney claimed happened to the prisoner.
Alves’ lawyer states that witnesses were horrified at what they had seen. The sheriff has refused to discuss the incident and his lawyers have stated that they cannot say whether a lawsuit has been filed.
