J-Lo And Ex Try To Settle Lawsuit
The ex-partner of singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez, has agreed not to publish any criticism or details about the star until a pending lawsuit over his revealing book about his ex has been settled. Lopez sued her ex, Ojani Noa, back in April to stop him from publishing his tell-all book. She stated that the two of them had a non-disclosure agreement, which would be breached if the book was published.A hearing in the case was cancelled earlier last week after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge signed an injunction between Lopez and Noa. Lopez had already obtained a temporary restraining order after filing the lawsuit so that the book could not be published.
The current injunction is set to remain in place until a course of action is taken through a non-jury trial or the two of them settle their dispute. The injunction means that Noa has to refrain from "criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging" Lopez. Also, he cannot disclose any private of personal details for financial gain.
Noa cannot sell or circulate any copies of his manuscript and has been directed to get any copies back from anyone that may hold them. The judge has also directed the two to try and "resolve their dispute without engaging in further litigation."
