Woman Files For Harassment Against Case Worker
A woman from Fort Worth has filed a lawsuit claiming she was sexually harassed by a case worker, and that she was blackmailed into having sex with the worker, who used a number of threats to make her comply with his wishes, according to the allegations made by the woman.The 26-year-old woman is HIV positive. She has three children, and she sought help from an AIDS outreach center in 2005. The caseworker against whom the allegations have been made was from the outreach center. The woman has now filed the suit against the AIDS Outreach Center of Greater Tarrant County.
Allegations have been made that the caseworker forced the woman to have sex with him, and told her that if she refused and didn’t comply with his wishes he would ensure that her benefits were taken away from her, such as utility assistance and housing assistance, and he would also tell child protective services that she was unable to adequately look after her children.
Officials from the outreach center have refused to comment, but a lawyer for the woman stated: "It's a pretty nasty deal. I wouldn't have filed this type of case if I didn't feel we had a strong case."
