Woman Sues Attorney After Case Dropped
A nineteen-year-old woman has filed a lawsuit against her own attorney, after he dropped her personal injury case. Suzanne Kraus suffered a leg injury in 2002, when she was just 15 years old. The injury occurred at Reelfoot Lake State Park, where she was camping, when an object fell through her tent and pierced her leg.Her attorney, L. Thomas Lakin, allegedly put her and her mother into a Florida hotel on an extended basis, and according to Kraus he was bragging about how he could get her millions of dollars for the injury she had suffered to her leg.
However, following this the Lakin Law Firm dropped the case altogether. She was sent a letter from the law firm stating: 'We believe it is not feasible to pursue a case on your behalf. After reviewing the information that we have, we believe that the case would be extremely difficult to prove.'
The plaintiff claims that prior to this Lakin had strongly indicated that the case was worth millions in compensation, and that he even showed other attorneys and lawyers the injury and still continued to state that it was worth millions.
