Obese Man Sues Fast Food Chains
An obese man from New York is suing a number of fast food chains because of his weight. He is suing four fast chains, one of which is the big name fast food joint McDonalds. The man claims that the fast food has led to a number of related health problems and aims to seek compensation for these health issues.Fifty-six year-old Caesar Barber is suing four of the major fast food chains, which comprise McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, and Wendy’s. Weighing in at over 264 pounds, he states that he has had a series of heart attacks, and that the fast food chains are responsible for both his weight and the related health problems.
Barber claims that the companies were not up front about the nutritional values of the food items on sale, and having eaten fast food for over half a century he claims that this contributed to his problems.
Barber stated: "They said '100 percent beef.' I thought that meant it was good for you. Those people in the advertisements don't really tell you what's in the food," he said. "It's all fat, fat and more fat. Now I'm obese."
