Businesses Fight Against The Hiring Of Illegal Immigrants
The fight against firms that take on illegal immigrants has stepped up, with many companies and anti-illegal immigration groups looking to find a way to ease the problem of firms taking on illegal workers in order to benefit themselves and gain an advantage.Mike Hethmon of the Immigration Reform Law Institute, stated: "We see the legal profession bringing to this issue the kind of effect it's had on consumer product safety." The first batch of lawsuits is already pressing ahead, with one farm worker agency suing a grower and two other companies.
Global Horizons, which is a temporary employment agency that provides farm workers, claims that the grower, named as the plaintiff in the lawsuit, hired illegal workers from two companies, also named, which are Ayala Agricultural Services and J&A Contractors.
Global Horizons President Mordechai Orian said: "Competitors hiring illegal immigrants is hurting our business badly. It's to the point that doing business legally isn't worth it."
