Allen Iverson Hit By Lawsuit
Allen Iverson, from the Philadelphia 76ers, faces a lawsuit for nearly $2.5 million, after allegations that he was involved in hiring a team of security people that went on to assault a number of people at a nightclub in the Hampton area.In addition to Iverson being named as a defendant, his promotional manager and members of the security team area have also been sued. The incident is said to have taken place in July of 2005, and was at Crabbers Restaurant and Sports Lounge.
Four people are said to have been assaulted during the incidents, and the plaintiffs claim that the assault was carried out by a team of security people known as the ‘Horsemen’, which was the team that Iverson was allegedly involved in hiring.
Two of the plaintiffs claim that they were assaulted by the security people as they were dancing in the club. The other two stated that they were assaulted when they went to leave the club. The lawsuit accuses Iverson and the other defendants of negligence for hiring ‘dangerous individuals’.
