The lawsuit filed by Jill Whitney was against the Gray’s Harbor Community Hospital, and was filed last year by the woman’s attorneys. She has now settled for a sum that has not been disclosed. The anti-nausea medication administered to her was Phenergen, and the lawsuit was against the hospital, and the manufacturers of the medication as well as against three physicians.
According to the allegations in the lawsuit, the medication was not administered properly and as a result went into an artery, which caused the loss of fingertips on the woman’s right hand.
The settlement so far relates to the lawsuit filed against the hospital. An attorney stated to reporters: “Part of the agreement prohibits Ms. Whitney or myself from telling you anything about the terms of the settlement. The claim against the physicians and the company is still pending.”
