9/11 Docudrama May Result In Lawsuit By Airline
The recent docudrama, ‘Path to 9/11’, aired by ABC may result in a lawsuit filed by outraged officials at American Airlines, who claim that the program was inaccurate and irresponsible. Many democrats wanted the program to be pulled before it aired, but although some changes were made the airing still went ahead.One of the scenes at the center of controversy is that of a warning that is said to have flashed up when one of the hijackers approached an American Airlines counter in Boston. However, the warning is said to have actually come up on a different airline when the hijacker was boarding a plane to get to Boston.
One AA official stated: "I think it is important for you to know that ABC had factual errors in its dramatization, and we are looking at possible legal actions as a result. According to the 9/11 Commission Report, it was not American Airlines, nor was it even the right airport that was depicted.”
He continued: “Please know this was a tragic incident in our company's history and we hope you will be sympathetic to our employees and our airline on this day especially. Again, we are outraged by this situation, and we alerted ABC about its gross error. It is very unfortunate."
