Another Lawsuit Filed Against Taser – By Police Chief
A Boone County Police Chief from Missouri has filed a lawsuit against stun gun manufacturer Taser, as well as against two companies that supply police equipment. Jacob Herring claims that he was severely injured through a shock when using one of the stun guns. His is the latest in a string of lawsuit filed against the well known stun gun manufacturer, Taser.The stun guns manufactured by Taser are used by over 7,000 law enforcement agencies across the globe according to reports. The devices are used as a safer alternative to firearms. However, many lawsuits have been filed recently claiming that the devices have caused serious injury and in some cases even resulted in the death of the person stunned.
Herring’s lawsuit claims that he was shocked by a Taser M26 in April of last year. Following the shock, it is alleged that the police chief suffered a variety of health problems and injuries including loss of vision and hearing, at least two strokes, cardiac problems, head injuries, and neurological damage.
Taser made a statement with regards to the lawsuit. "We are aware of this filing and intend to aggressively fight any such claim," Taser spokesman Steve Tuttle wrote.
