Lawsuit Filed Against Hearing Aid Fitter
A hearing aid fitter and seller is being sued by the Pennsylvania Attorney General, Tom Corbett, who has filed a 19 county lawsuit against the defendant. The fitter and seller of the hearing devices is being accused of defrauding consumers as well as practicing without a license.In addition to the above, the defendant, named as Lori A. Firestone, is also accused of altering test results and documentation, when the Attorney General’s office tried to obtain information through the serving of a subpoena.
The lawsuit has been filed through the newly created Elder Abuse Unit set up by the Attorney General’s Office. A stream of complaints made by mainly older consumers in the Pennsylvania area led to the investigation and the subsequent lawsuit.
It is alleged that Firestone was paid between two and nine thousand dollars by consumers for the contracts that she entered into with them, relating to the sale and fitting of the hearing devices.
