Starbucks Being Sued Over Coupon
A lawyer is suing the world famous coffee chain Starbucks for $114 million– over an allegation that the coffee chain refused to take a coupon from the client for whom the lawyer is working.It is alleged that Starbucks sent out coupons for free grande drinks to its employees recently, and that employees were encouraged to give coupons to their friends and family. However, because of the number of people that ended up getting their hands on the coupons and trying to claim free drinks reports state that the company had to start turning them away.
The coupons that were sent to employees by the coffee chain are said to have been printable coupons that were emailed out. It is thought that this is why a wide range of people ended up getting access to the coupons, rather than just the friends and families of employees, as was the original aim.
The lawyer for the client who was among those turned away by the coffee chain now plans to hit the chain with the multi-million dollar lawsuit. A similar lawsuit was filed a few years ago against fast food giant McDonalds for serving coffee that was too hot.
