Beauty Queen Sued By Dead Man’s Parents
Sharron Nicole Redmond, the Savannah beauty queen recently acquitted of murder, is being sued. The lawsuit is being filed by the parents of the beauty queen’s boyfriend, who she was accused of murdering, an act of which she was later acquitted.The parents of the dead man, Kevin Darnell Shorter, filed their lawsuit on Thursday, The suit asks for $10 million in damages, and was filed in Chatham County State Court. The man’s mother stated that he had been portrayed as someone very different to who he really was, and that he was actually a ‘gentle giant.’
The beauty queen shot Shorter just four months after winning her title, and claimed to be acting in self defence. The shooting took place in December 2003. Commenting on the lawsuit, the lawyers of the beauty queen state that the man’s parents are simply after money.
The beauty queen is now planning to file a counter lawsuit, and in the meantime has moved to Atlanta.
