Dropped Strip Club Lawsuit To Be Re-Filed
At attorney that was representing a number of employees from a strip club in a lawsuit against local law enforcement officers has stated that the lawsuit has now been dropped, but only because another two lawsuits are to be filed with an even higher number of employees to be added to the complaint, according to reports.The original federal civil suit was dropped in October. At this time the attorney, Arlon Stoker, was representing two topless dancers and a bartender from the Phoenix Nightclub. Staff from the club claim that they were humiliated by officers, and were forced to strip and stand in their underwear during an illegal search for selling to underage consumers and for bootlegging.
Arlon Stoker stated: "We're adding several more parties on the new complaint," Stoker said. "We're going to add a couple of additional names of Phoenix Nightclub employees to the list of plaintiffs. After the suit is refiled, we're going to file a separate lawsuit on behalf of the patrons."
The lawsuits will claim violation of employee and patron rights, after the search was carried out by agent Glenn Slaughter from the Special Investigation Division of the New Mexico State Police and a number of other law enforcement officers.
