Businessman’s Lawsuit Against Radio Commentator Dismissed
A lawsuit filed by a business against a radio commentator and political consultant has been dismissed by an Orange Circuit judge. The Winter Garden businessman, Richard Mask, claims that the commentator, Doug Guetzloe, made remarks that were slanderous and implied that he was a pedophile.According to the lawsuit, the radio commentator made comments about Mask "trying to pick up young boys" and "trolling for children." However, Guetzloe claims that his words were misconstrued and the judge wrote in his order that the claims made by Mask were not actionable.
The lawsuit was dismissed by Judge John Adams late in December 2006, but the judge dismissed the case without prejudice, giving Mask the opportunity to file another lawsuit if he wishes to do so. In response to the dismissal of the lawsuit Mask stated that he would indeed be filing again.
Another lawsuit has also been filed by the radio commentator against Mask, with Doug Guetzloe claiming that the copyright of his show, called the Guetzloe Report, was breached when Mask tape recorded it.
