Founder Of Hard Rock Is Sued By Ex-Wife
The founder of the world famous Hard Rock restaurant and casino is being sued by his ex-wife. The lawsuit filed against Peter Morton claims that his ex-wife was not provided with accurate information with regards to her share of the business, and was duped into selling her ex-husband over $12 million worth of stock for less than half a million dollars.Tarlton Morton filed her lawsuit last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court. She goes on to claim that another $30 million worth of stock that rightfully belonged to her was also transferred by Peter Morton into his own name.
Peter Morton sold his Hard Rock Cafe shares for over $400 million in 1996, and in 1997 he and his wife of seven years decided to get divorced. The Las Vegas Hard Rock hotel and casino was then sold by Morton last year for over $700 million.
It was this most recent sale that resulted in the legal fight between Morton and his ex-wife, a dispute that will now be settled through the courts.
