Lawsuit Against Television Personality Settled For Around $700
Television personality Sam Newman is thought to have settled a lawsuit that was filed against him in relation to a boating accident for around $700 according to sources. The star spoke to reporters outside the court in Melbourne.When reporters asked the ex Geelong Player, whose real name is John Newman and who is now the host of AFL’s ‘The Footy Show’ he stated: "I have just had a very, very convivial chat to all and sundry in there.''
The boat accident that resultd in the lawsuit occurred in Queenscliff, which lies just south west of Melbourne. Although the case was due to be heard in court earlier this week, it was said to have been settled between the parties in question for around $700, which meant that the TV persoanlity didn’t even have to enter the court room.
With regards to his short lived court experience, Newman joked: "Ever been and seen how it works? It's fascinating ... that's why we like to kit up on a 40-degree day and go into the magistrates court, it's fantastic.'
