Millions Awarded In Fatal Air Crash Case
Millions of dollars in compensation have been awarded in the case of a man that was killed in a fatal air crash at the 1999 Arlington Air Show. It was found that in the case of the death, which occurred in an experimental aircraft in 1999, organizers of the air show had failed to provide adequate safety and emergency procedures.The case over the death of 38-year-old Donald Allen Corbitt went to court last month, and took place in Snohomish County Superior Court. An award for $10.5 million was signed by the judge for the death of the man.
Corbitt was flying an experimental RV-6A aircraft when he crashed and died in 1999. Corbitt was a software consultant and a retired employee of the Microsoft Corp. Although he survived the impact of the crash he was left trapped in the aircraft and burned to death because the portable fire extinguishers gave out.
A lawyer for the widow of the deceased man stated that Corbitt had died a horrible death.
